Where have all the friendships gone??

I never thought that I'd find myself saying this, but I think that for the first time in my life, I am truly experiencing what it means to be 'lonely'. Wow, I never thought I'd ever write that out...even sounds like a beginning to a Backstreet Boys song.

Anyway, I'm slightly concerned because I think that it's getting to the point where I'm not truly comfortable engaging conversation with people that I've known for years, and at often times it becomes a chore to have to carry out a conversation with them. Does that make any sense?

For the most part, one of the major reasons is because of this grad school application that I'm currently working on, which is just destroying my motivation...and more significantly, my creativity.

The next reason is because I really need to find and immerse myself with people in my field. Perhaps part of the reason that I'm finding it such a chore to carry out conversations with people is because I'm not with the right people who know what I'm talking about, or moreso, they're at a different stage in their life that they simply cannot relate. Yeesh, I'm starting to sound like Suzi from last year...haha...sorry Suzi...

But the last couple weeks haven't been all that bad...I've still managed to ponder some topics worth a brief moment of consideration...

What's with Starbucks and their crazy cup size lingo? (ie. Tall, Grande, Venti) Whatever happened to just the usual "Small, Medium, Large", that pretty much all restaurants and places that serve beverages have adopted since the beginning of time?

Is it possible for someone who has perfect eyesight to be an optician/eye-glasses salesperson? Can they truly give a recommendation on which eye glass frames to buy if they've never worn a pair in their life?

And finally, a question for debate...I've asked several people this but I'm inclined to get more people on the bandwagon...essentially the problem is as follows: What's the difference between buying something and NEVER using it, and buying something and throwing it into the trash? Now c'mon, let's be sensible about this problem and not just go to the whimsical answer of, "even if you don't use it, there's always the possibility of using it," because that's not what I asked for. I asked if there was a DIFFERENCE between the two...and I'd like to hear an enlightened response if you've got one to share.

One final note before closing, I'd like to make a shoutout to Sarah Deardorf.

My close friend and frequent Geneva confidant, has moved onto the adventure of a lifetime, and has taken off to Tanzania just last week to pursue future career aspirations. And if I knew exactly what she's supposed to be doing over there, I would've mentioned it already...but I don't! Incredible! I wish her the best of luck and look forward to seeing her again in the future!

Anyway to finish off, I've decided that I'm going to make a serious attempt at representing the city of Hamilton in a good light, and show that Hamilton actually is a city worth seeing...

...at least for a little while...even if it means just driving through it. =)

Alley back y'all...

New blog...some-what new style...same old nonsensical writing.

Gotta start a new chapter in the book of the Alanosaur...

And since I'm no longer traveling, I'm trying to make a serious attempt at picking the cream of the crop of the photos I take and post up.

One of the most significant aspects of this new bloggie is the comments section. For anyone who comes across it, I welcome and encourage comments, questions, and critiques. And unlike the last one, I will respond. =)

At the same time, this blog will probably consist of alot of random thoughts and perhaps even some movie reviews? Who is to know? I don't even know. Ya know?
